Haute Vote

Apr09

After winning a spiteful staring contest against a tacky table of over-tanned sorority tourists in matching "I <3 NY" t-shirts, we left brunch and headed back to the Lower East Side to visit Lois Eastlund.

I got a chance to try on her newest dresses in varying hemlines. The mixed-media knee-length dress caught my eye; Zebra print and splatter-paint patterns sound difficult to pair -- but Lois made the combination look chic and effortless.

After playing a little dress-up, Lois directed me to the V Man Model Search website. One of the best models from her runway show last season is in the competition -- Randall Harris. You can click here to find him and vote.

Because, really... take a look at this face.

NYC to NOLA

Mar11

While right now is prime preparation time for Friday night's festivities, there is news that just cannot wait until post-Saturday-brunch.

District L favorite, Lois Eastlund, just launched her exclusive line for Glam 504. The brand new boutique opened March 2, 2011 on New Orleans' famed Magazine Street.

Glam 504 owner, Jess Galetz, elaborates, “I found these great independent designers in New York who I love and wear […] I noticed that there is nothing here like this."

In order to bring some Lower East Side style further South and equally east, Galetz opened her store with an expertly blended attitude. "The vibe of the store is a 60s Warhol pop-vibe with a little Rock n’ Roll thrown in, while still mixing together special aspects of New Orleans. Many items will be one-of-a-kind, custom-made pieces that will represent everything I love about New York while maintaining the vibe of New Orleans."

Lois’s exclusive line will include her signature modish, Ludlow-esteemed designs, as well as limited-edition dresses adorned in fleur-de-lis and painted bead prints.

Lois Eastlund... turns 2!

Nov03

What does District L love more than a party? A FASHION party!

On November 11, join us at Lois Eastlund's boutique on 153 Ludlow Street to celebrate her second anniversary! The party starts at 5pm, and be sure to wear your favorite mod creation, because an extra discount goes to customers who arrive in Lois Eastlund originals.

You'll find us there, drink in one hand and camera in the other, swiping until our Visa cards are warm. We know you'll do the same!
