Yesterday evening we attended a launch party for the LF Stores x Steve Madden footwear collaboration. A Candy Bar sweetened the bustling event on 150 Fifth Avenue hosted by fashion blogger, Amy Levin. Celebrating sky-high heels and patterned smoking shoes, DJ Chelsey Leyland added a retro kick to the night’s festivities.

A branded Winnebago parked in front of Highline Stages welcomed guests into last night’s after-hour celebration for Lands’ End Canvas. Maintaining the motto of “Authentic Inspiration – Modern Interpretation,” the brand’s party launched Spring 2012 with artwork from the School of Visual Arts and a concert by The Wandas. As cocktails were being served throughout a terrain of styled mannequin sets and quirky lifestyle scenes, fierce ping-pong competitions were occurring just left of the photo-booth step-and-repeat.
Attracting the right combination of impulsive prepster and nonchalant urbanite, this Wednesday evening event created just the right buzz.

Salon? Photo and presentation space? Editorial "think tank"? Yes, yes, and yes.

This evening, the District L dyad walked into the ultimate oxymoron - MAINENTRANCE, an innovative salon/event venue/editorial location that is anything but "main." Tonight's launch party drew a whirlwind of PYTs, creative types, and media professionals into a spacious, yet inconspicuous space on 40 W. 29th Street. Mix in a solid open bar, great music, and sleek, modern real estate -- then stir for fabulous results.

The self-described "collaborative artist development destination" combines cool New York understatement with the innovative expertise of Berry Bachen and DJ Riggs. Not yet sold on the fact that coolness can still exist in Midtown? Check. It. Out.
In terms of Fashion Week potential, we expect MAINENTRANCE will destroy B&B in future seasons.
