Two words hit me yesterday like a pair of plummeting Noritaka Tatehanas: "Resort 2013."
It doesn't take much to fall behind, but after just a short break from writing, I stumbled upon a series of unfamiliar Bottega images. Since 'Weekday Amanda' is already riddled with anxieties, it only look these two words, a few unknown runway looks, and a rainy day to prompt my return.
And a return to Resort 2013 is anything but a simple response to the traditional resort shows of years past. Dark, slinky, and monochromatic, Bottega Veneta's latest season dodges typical cruise collection expectations -- especially for a designer that resides part-time in Palm Beach. Plums and charcoals were artfully adorned with prominent, unprocessed metals for a look that was more 'urban trek' than 'beachy gyp-set.'
