How to give the perfect gift... to me.

Aug15

It’s mid-August. You know what that means, don’t you? Time to start thinking about my birthday presents!

I can empathize; It’s no easy task. As a footwear aficionado in the industry, it can be difficult to predict my desires from week to week – especially during this period of seasonal transition. And yes, I agree… There should be an easier way to do this.

Interestingly enough, people don’t register for birthday gifts – but if they did, I’d open my registry at Casadei, La Petite Cave, and United Nude. Just…hypothetically speaking.

My birthday is only two short weeks away from NY Fashion Week, welcoming the perfect opportunity for early-autumn attire additions. Keeping that in mind...

I can declare with the utmost conviction that the United Nude Spat boot would not only create the perfect foundation for my F’11 wardrobe, but also be a hit in Lincoln Center. In dark brown calf leather and tweed, the tall-shafted boot combines equestrian elegance with femme fatale.

Casadei, the more subtle assassin, maintains a sharp appearance with its Blade collection. Towering knife-like stilettos will satisfy my need for a sleek, sexy shoe, as well as provide the feeling of security during late-night treks back to my apartment.  Isn’t multitasking fun?

And if you’re looking to give the gift of experience, a few bottles of POP Pink Champagne might just do the trick…

SuperNew

Jul01

While walking home from dinner on Wednesday evening, I was surprised to stumble upon Seaport retail newcomer, SuperDry. The British retailer, who officially opened their Seaport doors yesterday, planted a show-stopping 120 piece jam-jar chandelier in their new Fulton Street digs.

Drink Patriotically. Shop New York.

Jun26

Early Saturday evening, DL headed over to La Petite Cave to stock up on festive swills for the upcoming holiday. With the first day of summer behind us and the Fourth of July only a week away, it’s time to work on perfecting that patriotic panache. Our fridge is now lined with personal bottles of Pommery POP Champagne, all dressed in Betsey Ross attire.

Assuming the appropriate beverages have been determined and the proper trip, rooftop, or event has been reserved, we’d like to suggest a few special New York-made pieces that will add a touch of local flair to the weekend’s festivitiesThe fizz may be French, but these threads were born here.

A touch of color can go a long way – especially in a single feather earring. The photo above, shot by Jeffrey Fried, features a design by Box 185’s Sara Keiser.

Lois Eastlund celebrates two years in the LES.

Nov12

"Happy Birthday, Lois!"

Over booze and treats, Lois fans celebrated two years of versatile, mod looks on Ludlow. With wine courtesy of Local Boutique and culinary indulgences by Tremper Hill Catering, the LES anniversary party lasted from 5-10pm last night. Guests received discounts and gift bags with purchase -- which was all the more reason to score a new look.

And the gift that keeps on giving? After a long work week, there is NO SHAME in re-curling your hair while guzzling champagne out of a coffee mug... if it says Lois Eastlund on it.
