How did I ever overlook this fantastic gem? The Vagaries of Fashion, shot by Miles Aldridge, appeared in the September 2007 issue of Vogue Italia.
I had NO IDEA that Vogue Italia wrote parenting guides. I've never been into the idea of motherhood... but thanks to Aldridge, I now know that I'd do just fine.

There has never been a better Valentine than Fashion Week. On Monday, Guishem’s model presentation proved itself worthy of our V-day affections. But regardless of the holiday, The Box at Lincoln Center traded Aphrodite for Athena to exhibit Guillermo Jop’s “warrior goddess vibe.”
Models, sporting geometric mini-dresses and mixed-media gowns, stunned guests with an Iris-inspired color palette in contrast fabrics. Neon hosiery with bold side-seams were worn Lolita-style along high, structural shoes, asymmetrical necklines, and sheer overlays. Body-skimming silhouettes with cutout details combined the ideas of fantasy with fierceness, and grace with agility.
Wanting nothing more than a sheer cape and tall-danger-heels, this warrior goddess left Lincoln Center with a few favorites for her wish list... Has Zeus paid off the Visa yet?

I must admit, when the Zang Toi show began, my expectations were low: It is never good to include a radio-edit song on your runway playlist, much less some shitty bar song. Despite this well-known fact, Zang Toi started his show with a shirtless male model strutting down the runway to Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.

But after the first couple of looks, the tone (and music) changed from "Ladies' Night" at the local pub to Lynn Wyatt's post-Opera social. Floor-grazing organza dresses under fully-fastened toggle blazers slowly sauntered down the runway to more dignified sounds. Silk crepe gowns paired with belted wrap jackets were a far cry from the lone star that opened the show.

As mentioned in previous posts, this is the season for fairytales and fantasy. For Toi, Giant (1958) is the fable and Leslie Benedict is his Princess Winnifred.
