Cameron Silver's Decades, the expertly curated menagerie of vintage couture with both a hard location in LA and an ever-growing pop-up tour, is taking a big leap onto the new media gravy train.
Sister boutique DecadesTwo, which meshes Decades with a sort of Christies-meets-Gilt concept, has just relaunched as DecadesTwo.1, an online storefront which co-owner Christos Garkinos promises will be "focused on being both multi-platform and multi-media".
The stock, "pre-loved" pieces sold at as much as an 80% markdown, are sourced from Garkinos' personal circle of celebrity and industry contacts. This combined with an "under $300" section on the site means that, potentially, the only thing standing between you and one sudden degree of separation from Rachel Zoe is, well...$299.
Other features on the site include dossiers on the shop's high-profile consignors, closet features, and daily blog posts by Garkinos himself...besides much, much more. While technologically not the most revolutionary platform on the web, it's a thrilling (and surprisingly democratic?) new portal of access to some utterly sublime second skins.
So, Daphne, when you start to think your vault is getting a bit full...take note.
