Oftentimes, a single accessory can completely transform a look. There is no denying the transformational abilities of 3.1 Phillip Lim opera gloves, hand-carved Rodarte platforms, or Olivier's shades. But all other statement pieces aside, there is nothing more conspicuous than the adornment on one's head. From Verrier to Hermes, Marc Jacobs to Missioni, here are the most popular hat trends for SS11.

Four days of NYFW have gone by and I have attended some incredible shows, but today Carolina Herrera’s collection gave me shivers and nearly brought tears to my eyes (in a good way!) For the record, I am not an overly sensitive type, but the opulent fabrics in forest green, bronze, and metallic ivory triggered a glorious sensory overload. It wasn’t just the rich colors and fabrics, though. It was the effortless movement of the gowns and the classic sensuality of the silhouettes that I will most remember. But like any hot love affair, the Carolina Herrera show barely lasted 15 minutes and left us wanting more

11:45am: Two overdone high school students tried to get in through the front entrance by claiming their parents were inside the tents and they couldn't get in touch with them. When asked what show their parents were seeing, they replied, "The next one."
12:30: Paris and Nicky show up at the New York Public Library for the Jill Stuart show sending paparazzi in a frenzy.
2:55: The DKNY show finishes at its off-site location without any word of PETA protests.
