For a shot at a whopping 3,000 dollar scholarship, high school students around the country competed in "Stuck at Prom"- a contest sponsored by Henkel Corp. to see just how creative kids could get with duct tape.
One of the final couples, Rachel Cunningham and Billy Oliver, is pictured sporting a "Mother Earth and Father Time" themed ensemble that reportedly required 47 rolls of duct tape to construct. Quel shitshow.
It's nice to watch high school students get fresh and funky with fashion- after all, it doesn't matter how bad the outfit looks, right? It's made of duct tape for christ sake, of course it's risky and fashion forward, right? I could walk outside right now wearing nipple tassels and a shift made of maxi-pads and still be considered at the cutting edge of avant garde. Right? Right?
The tuxedo at least incorporates cobalt blue and the pant has a vage Y-3 ring to it. But the bias cut "gown" with tacky tree motif? We say no. We're not cutting them any high school breaks.
In high school, District L always looked great. Good luck guys.
