As District L's party-of-two walked into the Verrier presentation earlier this evening, the piano music of a silent film filled the Box at Lincoln Center.

Models, dressed in sheer, ladylike fabrics, looked as if they were en route to the Buckingham Palace Gardens for the royal picnic. The looks told a sweet color-story in shades of cantaloupe, mint, and nepeta blue. With ribbon bows, wide brims, and Maryjane pumps, Ashleigh Verrier created a collection that could have stepped straight out of A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte - except, ya know, in 2010.
