For a collection intending to challenge conventional perceptions of beauty, Mimi Plange’s “Scarred Perfection,” was undeniably beautiful. Inspired by African tribal traditions of body modification, Plange’s presentation showcased deliberate repetition in pleats, ruffles, and ornamentation. A rich color story of crimson, black and gold transformed tonight’s Midtown model gathering into a Saharan mirage.
